A 14-year-old gunman killed his father then opened fire at a South Carolina elementary school, wounding two 6-year-old boys and a teacher Wednesday, authorities said.

The shooting at Townville Elementary School, near Clemson, happened at about 1:45 p.m.

A teacher called 911 from inside a classroom, bringing cops and firefighters rushing to the school, where the young shooter, armed with a handgun, was arrested, officials said.

One boy was hit in the leg and the other in the shoulder, police said. The female teacher was shot in the shoulder. Their wounds were not life-threatening.

The shooter’s dad, Jeffrey DeWitt Osborne, 47, was found dead at their home about two miles away, officials said.

Authorities did not release the name of the gunman, who was being home- schooled.

“We are heartbroken about this senseless act of violence,” said District 4 Superintendent Joanne Avery. “It’s a very difficult time.”
