This young mom was killed in the Hoboken train crash

A 34-year-old Hoboken mother is the sole fatality in Thursday’s New Jersey Transit train crash, her heartbroken mother confirmed to The Post the same day.

Fabiola Bittar de Kroon had just dropped her 1-year-old daughter off at daycare Thursday morning and was likely heading out to hunt for a new apartment when the speeding NJ Transit train barreled toward the Hoboken station platform where she was standing.

The impact of the crash caused debris to fly onto the tracks, with at least one piece fatally striking the Brazilian lawyer.

Her mother, Sueli, who still lives in Brazil, said she received a call from de Kroon’s distressed husband around 4:30 p.m. with the tragic news.

“We are very, very sad,” she said.

De Kroon had only moved to New Jersey a year ago — leaving her hometown of Santos, Brazil, to follow her husband, whose company relocated him to New York.

She quit her job and left behind her family to make a new life for their young daughter, Julia.

They had recently decided to start looking for apartments to be closer to Manhattan and find a better school district for Julia.

Sueli suspects that de Kroon was likely heading out to scout apartments Thursday morning after dropping Julia off at a local daycare.

De Kroon’s husband, Daan, was out of town on a business trip at the time of the crash, but was heading back to the city, according to NBC.

The two got married in 2012, according to a Facebook photo that shows them gleefully gazing into each other’s eyes — her in a strapless, corseted wedding gown and him in a black tux with a silver shirt.

Their Facebook profiles are filled with similar blissful images of them traveling the world.

Back in 2013, they went to Germany, where they stopped by the Neuschwanstein Castle, a 19th-century palace on which the Cinderella castle is based.

Just a few months later, they swapped out their scarves and jackets for scuba-diving gear, with de Kroon flashing an “OK” hand gesture in an underwater pic.

Sueli said her family is arranging to have de Kroon’s body flown back to Brazil.
