Former Miss Universe goes after Melania Trump

Former beauty queen Alicia Machado isn’t just upset with the way Donald Trump treated her as Miss Universe in 1996 — she’s also taking aim his wife, Melania.

“I think I speak more English than her,” Machado said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.
“I don’t see anything about this girl. She’s a doll. She’s a decoration. That is how I see her.”

Machado, 39, told the magazine that toward the end of her Miss Universe reign, Donald Trump asked her what she wanted to do next.

“You’ll never be an actress,” she said he told her, “because you are too fat to be an actress, and nobody wants fat girls on TV shows.”

The Trump campaign called Machado’s accusations “baseless and unsubstantiated” and part of a “smear campaign” to promote herself.

The Venezuelan-born beauty was thrust into the presidential campaign Monday night when Hillary Clinton said Trump called her “Miss Housekeeping” and “Miss Piggy” after Machado gained weight.
