Former teacher admits to sending sex video to student

A former high school teacher has been arrested for allegedly sending a 17-year-old student a video of herself performing a sex act, authorities said.

Stephanie France Luckey, 37, also sent up to 10 nude photos of herself to the boy while she worked as an English teacher at Muhlenberg High School in Berks County, Pa. An investigation was launched in June after a complaint was received by prosecutors that Luckey had “inappropriate contact” with the teenager, the Berks County District Attorney’s Office said.

A subsequent forensic investigation revealed that Luckey created a private Twitter account with the student so she could talk with him privately and directly from April through June. The conversations then “turned sexual in nature,” according to Berks County prosecutors, with Luckey sending the student nude photographs of herself and a video of her performing a sexual act.

The victim also said he and Luckey would kiss in her classroom after school.

The Berks County District Attorney’s Office said Luckey admitted to the allegations during an interview with detectives in July. She submitted her resignation at the high school in August.

Luckey, of Richlandtown, surrendered to detectives on Tuesday on charges of unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors. She remains jailed on $25,000 bail at the Berks County Jail, WFMZ.com reports.

The district’s superintendent said Luckey’s contact with students ended when school officials learned of the complaint.

“These actions are not to be tolerated,” Muhlenberg School District Superintendent Joseph Macharola said in a statement to WFMZ.com. “This behavior is despicable and outrageous … There is absolutely no place in public education or any organization where the employee’s trust and integrity is compromised by deplorable judgement [sic] while engaging with children or young adults. We will not tolerate such predatory conduct.”
