Dad leaps to death off bridge while holding his 2 kids

A man died when he jumped from a New Jersey bridge while holding his two children on Monday night — but the youngsters somehow survived, cops said.

The man drove his two kids to the Interstate 287 overpass in Wanaque Township — which crosses the Wanaque River — at about 8 p.m. and “intentionally jumped,” according to police.

He missed the water and landed in a wooded area. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his children were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cops did not identify the father or provide the ages of the children.
