Bo Dietl will run against de Blasio for mayor in 2017

Bo Dietl announced Thursday that he will run against Mayor “Big Bird” de Blasio – and just became a Democrat so he could primary against him.

His platform; to clear the streets of homeless people who have turned the city into a “giant toilet bowl,” to personally drive a bulldozer to take out bike lanes, and free cops so they can go after even petty crooks who openly sell and shoot up drugs in Washington Square Park and elsewhere.

He says he declared his intention directly to the mayor last Saturday while riding on a friend’s boat in Sag Harbor.

“He was standing on the dock walking around saying hello to people,” Dietl told the Post. “Nobody was inviting him onto their boats and I didn’t invite him either. All I said was, ‘Hey Big Bird, I’m coming for you.’ Then he waved to me like, ‘c’mon.’ I said, ‘New York needs a change from your nonsense and you’re going to get thrown out because I’m running against you.”

Dietl, a private eye, former NYPD detective and lifelong Republican, said he will meet with a campaign strategist next week, with plans to run as a “fiscal conservative Democrat with socially inclusive.”

“I’m running because I love this city and the way we’re going is not a good thing,” he said. “The good people of New York are suffering because of this mayor’s progressive mentality.”
