An angry old man is telling those dang kids to get off his lawn as they play Pokémon Go — and he’s suing over it.
Jeffrey Marder, 61, of West Orange, NJ, has taken the age-old battle between children and ornery seniors to the next level by going to court and demanding Pokémon’s creator stop people from playing on his property.
The federal suit says Niantic Inc. is causing him to be swamped with kids knocking on his door trying to catch Pokémon in his back yard.
“I think this Pokémon thing has gotten out of hand,” a woman at Marder’s home said Tuesday. “They even have stops at Auschwitz.”
Before the woman could continue, a man came to the doorway and told The Post to get lost.
“No comment . . . Get off my property, it’s getting creepy!” he said before slamming the door.
Marder, who is a personal-injury attorney, filed the suit in San Francisco and hopes it will get class-action status to include anyone whose property has been besieged by video-game freaks.
The game requires players to visit real-world locations where they can see and catch the Pokémon characters with the help of their phone’s camera and GPS.
Some sensitive locations have become PokéStops, where it is more likely to catch the video-game monsters. They include the US Holocaust Museum, Arlington National Cemetery and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.
“Pokémon put out a product without properly considering how it would affect property owners and their duties to the public,” said Marder’s lawyer, Jeremy Lieberman.
At one point, a man in his 50s drove up to Marder’s house and parked to play the game. He said that while he objected to players bothering the people who lived there, he thought Marder’s suit was ridiculous.
“I am not one to sue people when I’ve been inconvenienced,” the Pokémon player said.
Niantic could not be immediately reached for comment.
