Judge reverses decision to grant Manson disciple parole

California Gov. Jerry Brown Friday reversed a Parole Board decision to set free a former disciple of infamous cult leader Charles Manson.

Leslie Van Houten, 66, was recommended for parole in April after serving more than 40 years in prison for her role in the savage murders of Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, in their suburban LA home on Aug. 10, 1969.

Brown said Van Houten “poses an unreasonable danger to society if released from prison.”
