Woman killed, teenager injured after car overturns in the Bronx

A 44-year-old woman was killed and her passenger, a 16-year-old girl believed to be her daughter, was injured when their car plowed into an embankment in The Bronx and overturned at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The accident happened after another driver, who did not stop, cut off their car, which was heading south on the New England Thruway near Baychester Avenue, police said.

The teen was taken to Jacobi Hospital and is expected to survive.
