Jets had inside info on free-agent pickup from CFL

Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers will see a familiar face when the team reconvenes in April.

The Jets signed Rodgers’ son Kacy II on Thursday, according to the younger Rodgers’ agent, David Canter. Rodgers II, a defensive back, played for the Saskatchewan RoughRiders of the Canadian Football League for the past two years. He had 42 tackles and one interception last year. The 25-year-old played at the University of Miami. He attended a rookie minicamp with the Chiefs in May 2014, but did not sign.

Rodgers has been the Jets defensive coordinator under Todd Bowles since 2015.
