Being in the same division with the Patriots, the Jets don’t occupy the top spot too often.
But that’s where oddsmakers had the Jets in the early pursuit of Kirk Cousins with the team set to lavish him with a significant deal. However, as the offseason has progressed, the Vikings have surged to become the favorites in the Cousins sweepstakes.
In Bovada’s Feb. 19 odds, the Jets were a 2/3 favorite followed by the Broncos, Cardinals and Bills. But in the two weeks that have passed since, the Vikings have bolted from off the board to a clear 1/3 favorite, with the Broncos and Jets running second and third.
The wind started to blow Minnesota’s way with some reports hinting they are Cousins’ preferred choice. The Vikings seem willing to move on from Case Keenum, despite his success in leading the Vikings to the NFC title game last season.
NFL free agency starts next week, and Cousins is currently polling the internet to see where he should sign.
