Ben McAdoo could find a job in NFL hell

Two head coaches who combined to go 2-26 last season could be combining their powers.

Deposed Giants coach Ben McAdoo is interviewing with the Browns on Tuesday, according to a cleveland.com report, and has ties to new Browns GM John Dorsey.

McAdoo and Dorsey were together in Green Bay, where Dorsey was first director of college scouting and then director of football operations from 2000 to 2012. McAdoo was tight ends coach from 2006 to 2011 before he got promoted to QB coach before leaving for the Giants.

McAdoo will try to use his experience as a selling point, as he was Giants offensive coordinator and then head coach before 2017 descended into a disaster and he was fired with the Giants 2-10. If this interview works out, he would be joining a perpetual laughingstock that went 0-16 last year under Hue Jackson. The Browns did not have an offensive coordinator last season, with Jackson handling that duty.

McAdoo has competition, however. According to the report, fired Titans coach Mike Mularkey is on Cleveland’s radar, and Texans QB coach Sean Ryan, among others, already has interviewed for the job. Whoever takes over will need to mentor either DeShone Kizer or the quarterback whom the Browns grab with the No. 1 pick.

McAdoo previously was a target for the since-filled Broncos quarterback-coach position, but he has wanted a coordinator position.
