Bad Yelp reviews may have fueled fatal restaurant shooting

Poor Yelp reviews may have prompted a Connecticut man to shoot his co-worker at a fried chicken restaurant, according to a new report.

Cops arrested James Goolsby on Tuesday and charged him murdering father of seven Norris Jackson, a cook at the Manchester Bonchon Chicken franchise that Goolsby managed.

Goolsby, 28, and Jackson, 36, reportedly got into a heated argument inside the eatery early Saturday before Goolsby allegedly shot the man around 11:45 a.m.

Negative Yelp reviews fueled their animosity, law enforcement sources told the Hartford Courant.

The Manchester Bonchon’s ratings are mixed on the restaurant review website.

“They seem to be having management and quality of staff issues,” user Vangkou T. wrote in a July review.

“Well, I’m disappointed with the spicy chicken portion, looked to be about 1 tablespoon in size,” wrote Tony U. on Dec. 29 — the day before the shooting.

Jackson, a cook there, started there over the summer and made several Facebook posts complaining about his job, the Courant reported.

“6 straight days all 12hr shifts. And I gotta due this [expletive] Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun….” he reportedly posted on Dec. 20.

Goolsby was arrested Tuesday, charged with murder and was being held on $1 million bail. Cops also collared his girlfriend, Leanne Robitaille, 23, for hindering prosecution and were holding her on $100,000 bail.

The Korean restaurant chain released a statement on Facebook following the shooting.

“We at Bonchon Franchise are deeply saddened by the tragic shooting in Manchester, CT today, and are deeply concerned about the family and friends who are suffering. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and their family as we also respect their privacy during this ordeal.”
