Eagles fan arrested for punching horse at playoff game: police

An intoxicated man who showed up at Saturday’s NFL divisional playoff game in Philadelphia without a ticket was arrested after punching a police horse and a cop, police said.

Taylor Hendricks, 22, of Whitehall, Pa., was arrested after getting ejected from Lincoln Financial Field because he was drunk and didn’t have a ticket, police said in a statement.

“After the male was ejected he walked over to a mounted officer and began punching the horse in the face, neck and shoulder area,” Officer Troy Brown, a police spokesman, said in a statement obtained by The Post.

Hendricks then struck the unidentified cop on the horse in the legs. Another officer then noticed the melee and grabbed Hendricks before taking him into custody. The officer and the horse were not injured, Brown said.

Hendricks was later charged with aggravated assault, taunting a police animal, simple assault and defiant trespass. He was released after posting bail and is due to return to court for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 30, Philly.com reports.

Hendricks, according to court records reported by Philadelphia Magazine, had been cited for public drunkenness on two prior occasions and pleaded guilty both times.

The Eagles beat the Falcons 15-10 on Saturday to earn a trip to the NFC Championship game against the Vikings this weekend.
