President Trump blasted Sen. Al Franken on Twitter Thursday over allegations that the former “SNL” comic groped and forcibly kissed a woman during a USO tour in 2006.
“The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words. Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps?” Trump tweeted, referring to an image of the Minnesota Democrat appearing to grope former model Leeann Tweeden, now a Los Angeles radio news anchor.
Trump — who has been accused of sexual misconduct himself by numerous women — then added: “And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women. Lesley Stahl tape.”
Franken became the latest powerful man to get called out for sexually predatory behavior Thursday.
Tweeden came forward with disturbing details of her interactions with Franken during a trip to the Middle East.
While they were backstage on their USO gig, Franken cooked up a skit that called for him to kiss her.
Franken insisted, “We need to rehearse the kiss,” according to Tweeden.
“We did the line leading up to the kiss and then he came at me, put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth,” Tweeden recalled.
Trump’s reference to “Lesley Stahl tape” appeared to be a reference to a 1995 New York magazine article that quoted Franken, then an “SNL” writer, as offering a disturbing joke about Stahl while writing a sketch depicting broadcaster Andy Rooney finding an empty bottle of sedatives.
“When Lesley’s passed out, I take her to the closet and rape her,” he suggests the Rooney impersonator say.
