Clinton makes surprise appearance at DNC

Hillary Clinton made a surprise visit at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Clinton appeared on a big screen to address delegates her Democratic nomination for president after a performance by Alicia Keys.

“I am so happy, it’s been a great day and night,” Clinton, who was in New York, said during the live stream. “It’s an incredible honor you have given me. I can’t believe we just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet.”

Supporters cheered and the band continued to play on stage as Clinton spoke. She stressed how important the night was for her, but also gave a hat-tip to her supporters.

“This is really your victory,” Clinton said. “This is really your night.”

Before signing off, she offered a few words for any young girls up past their bedtimes watching from home.

“If there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say,” Clinton said. “I may become the first woman president, but one of you is next.”

Clinton is set to speak on Thursday night.
