Laura Ashby of Marietta, Georgia isn’t garnering social media attention for her impressive two-day winning streak on Jeopardy!, but rather for her allegedly irritating vocal inflection.

The long-running quiz show has certainly seen its fare share of cringeworthy contestants; some of whom like to put there own spin on Alex Trebek’s nerdy institution. Ashby’s appearance, however, has been causing quite a stir across Twitter and Vine for her rather odd way of extending certain words. Many viewers are hating on her nasally tone, while others are defending the Georgia native’s unique way of speaking.

Ashby first appeared on the quiz show back on November 6 before ABC’s regular programming hiatus. She was welcomed back this week with polarizing social reactions and even her own hastag, #LaurasVoice. Whether you’re pro or anti-Laura’s Voice, however, we can all agree that her appearance on the show is nevertheless, entertaining.
