This is what a sober, naked Michael Phelps does for fun

Shooting free throws on the road isn’t easy.

Shooting free throws at Arizona State’s Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz., can be downright terrifying.

The “Curtain of Distraction” has become a common sight at Sun Devils home games in an attempt to fluster opponents at the foul line.

During ASU’s 86-68 victory over Pac-12 rival Oregon State on Thursday night, the gimmick featured a special guest.

Yes, that special guest is none other than Olympic gold-medal record holder Michael Phelps. The 30-year-old is currently in Tempe training for the 2016 Olympics because his coach, Bob Bowman, is also the coach of the ASU swim team.

The Beavers’ free-throw shooter, Stephen Thompson Jr., missed both attempts during Phelps’ cameo. Thompson led Oregon State with 14 points in the loss.

Here’s a montage of some other great “Curtain of Distraction” episodes.
