6-foot-9 man arrested for rape of waitress: cops

The 6-foot-9 man who brutally raped a Washington Heights waitress has been arrested, cops said.

Jean Rodriguez, who lives in the Bronx near Yankee Stadium, was arrested in Harlem, cops said.

He was nabbed on the second floor of a building on East 123 Street near Park Avenue, around 8 p.m. Thursday by cops from the Special Victim’s Unit who were handling the case, the sources said.

The 20-year-old victim, who works at a Park Avenue South eatery, answered a knock at the door of her apartment Tuesday night when Jean Rodriguez,23, allegedly forced his way inside around 11:30 p.m., according to police.

The terrified woman, who did not know the man, tried to fight him off to no avail, sources said.

“It was a horrific stranger rape plain and simple,” said one source. “The victim is a very nice woman.”

Detectives identified Rodriguez through surveillance video captured near the scene, cops said.

He was slapped with charges of rape, burglary, menacing, sexual abuse, criminal sex act, cops said.

He has multiple prior arrests which were sealed. One was for criminal possession of marijuana, cops said.
