Woman tries to steal unmarked police car — with cops inside

A Pennsylvania woman tried to steal an unmarked police car — with two officers sitting inside it.

Pittsburgh resident Ria Buford thought she found herself a new ride Saturday morning when she saw a man get out of the driver’s seat of an idling car in front of Club Xtaza, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The man was in the middle of a phone call when Buford tried to seize the opportunity and made the dimwitted move to steal the vehicle.

The 32-year-old was surprised to find Officer Garrett Spory and another cop sitting inside the parked car, staking out a nearby afterparty following a Wiz Khalifa concert.

Spory quickly tried to push the woman out of the car.

“Pittsburgh police, get out of the vehicle now! You’re under arrest!” he shouted.

Trying to think of the best excuse she could, Buford told the officers she was only taking the unmarked cop car to drive to her own vehicle, the Post Gazette reports.

“We were both terrified that she was going to attempt to drive away with both of us in the vehicle,” Spory said in his complaint.

When Buford refused to get out, Spory made his way to the driver’s side and tried to yank the idiotic car thief from the seat. That’s when an unidentified man came to her aid, grabbing the officer by his shirt.

Officers eventually arrested both him and Buford.

She was charged with robbery of a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct, while the man was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest, according to the Post-Gazette.
