Michael Vick might not be a Mike Francesa regular after all

A day after it was announced Jets backup quarterback Michael Vick would do a weekly radio appearance on WFAN, Vick said he is reconsidering and also may not speak to the media at all this season.

A clearly annoyed Vick said he needs to find out the answers to some questions before deciding whether he will appear on Mike Francesa’s radio show every Tuesday, as the host announced this week. Vick then said he was going to “shut it down,” meaning he no longer wanted to talk to reporters.

It appeared Vick was just in a bad mood, and this likely will blow over quickly. He has been very generous with his time since he became a Jet when it comes to doing interviews.

Vick did grow increasingly tired of questions about the quarterback competition with Geno Smith that was never really a competition.

The NFL requires players to speak to the media, so Vick would be facing a fine if he followed through on his threat to keep quiet.
