‘Vampire’ coffee house offers drinks in blood bags

All that’s missing is Sookie Stackhouse.

Following the success of strangely themed restaurants and people’s obsession with vampires and shows like “True Blood,” a bizarre coffee house in China has opened where visitors can suck down drinks from blood bags.

Servers dressed as doctors and nurses serve wannabe bloodsuckers red colored beverages such as red wine, cherry cola, and blackcurrant juice in pouches titled Blood Type Energy Supply, Europics reports.

The bags are served up inside a brick-laced room resembling Dracula’s cellar, complete with coffins, books about vampires and vampire=related music to set the mood.

Drinks that don’t look like blood such as coffee, mineral water, or other colored fruit juices are stained red before being transfused to the bags.

Each one is even labeled with the four blood types, allowing the bloodsuckers to check off their type appropriately.

Diners will also be able to feast on meals heavy on the ‘bloody’ side, most coming with large portions of ketchup, which, according to the owners, seems to be a vampire’s favorite condiment.

“’The Vampire Diaries’ are enormously popular here now and with all the interest in everything to do with vampires, we felt this was something that would really catch on,” said Hsin Hsia, 43, manager of the coffee house.

“They have been a real hit with the younger generation,” Hsia added. “We don’t get many older customers, they think it’s weird when they realize everything we have to drink is only available in blood bags.”
