A woman was rescued by subway riders Thursday afternoon after she tumbled onto the tracks in Manhattan, according to transit sources and authorities.
The 48-year-old fell onto the downtown tracks at the Spring Street station near Lafayette Street about 4:50 p.m., according to an FDNY spokesman.
Sources said other riders quickly assisted her back onto the platform, and she wasn’t hit by the 6 train.
EMS took her from the station to Bellevue Hospital.
An MTA spokeswoman said service was briefly disrupted but has since fully resumed.
