Tori and Dean’s most cringe-worthy moments

If a “desperate” TV show had a face, it would look like Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, who star on Oxygen’s “True Tori” reality show. Why else would a couple facing infidelity, with their impressionable children looking on, air their private turmoil for the world to see? Tuesday’s “True Tori” episode had viewers bewildered on how far the couple’s “picture-perfect” marriage had fallen.

“Entertainment Tonight’s” Brooke Anderson moderates the counseling session posing as a reunion. Here are the top moments that left us shaking our heads.

Tori stays in the dark

Given the concept of reality shows, there should be some form of resolution, right? Well, Tori has yet to ask Dean if he cheated on her with women outside of the elusive Emily Goodhand. (OK, so why are we here again?) She says she fears finding out if there were any others because she’ll have no choice but to end their marriage.

The cheater gets cheated on

The emotionally scarred Tori discusses how it feels being on the scorned end of a cheating scandal. The actress presents herself as being virtually blinded by the whole ordeal, but not oblivious to the idea of karma coming back for revenge. She tells Anderson that the whole point of doing the series was to take control of her relationship.

What about the children?

Clearly, some topics are for adults only, but Tori actually wants her four children to be aware of their father’s infidelity. She justifies the kids’ participation in the series, citing their ease because “they’ve known the cameramen forever; before they were even born.”

Dean’s swan song

Dean tries one last ditch effort to prove his loyalty to Tori. He performs an emotional ballad he wrote especially for Tori. In one of the awkward lines in the song, Dean sings he “. . . broken trust for a dance with lust.” His poorly timed performance made for a cringe-worthy ending at best.

Speaking of faking it

Where is this Emily Goodhand? It’s 2014 and everyone is traceable on the Internet. Yet this supposed Canadian mistress has no presence online. Dean brushes off the inconclusive accusations and suggests his mystery woman had her digital imprint wiped clean.

Was Dean faking it?

Dean goes into near manic-depressive episodes whenever he’s questioned about his infidelity. During the season, McDermott would rock aggressively, as if he were trying to contain his anger. However, viewers weren’t buying it and accused him of faking the whole thing.
