Prosecutors submit 33 pages of Belichick-Hernandez texts

The Patriots can’t shake the Aaron Hernandez mess no matter how hard they try, and now a collection of text messages between coach Bill Belichick and the former star tight end have been turned over to prosecutors, according to the Hartford Courant.

Massachusetts detectives in one of the former star tight end’s murder cases have interviewed Belichick, owner Robert Kraft and other team employees – such as director of player personnel Nicholas Caserio, director of football Berj Najarian, and strength coach Moses Cabrer — as part of a yearlong investigation.

They also obtained more than 33 pages of text messages between Belichick and Hernandez from February 2013 to May 2013 — the four months leading up to the murder of Odin Lloyd on June 17.

The former Patriot tight end was released from the team after his arrest later last June. He faces two more murder counts in a separate case — a July 2012 drive-by shooting in Boston.

The Patriots have agreed to hand over the team’s medical records on Hernandez, but are trying to hold onto nine pages of scouting reports and a psychological evaluation.
