All these other marquee NBA deals captive to LeBron’s whim

The slow start to NBA free agency can be traced to one man: LeBron James.

The self-described King’s highly anticipated decision is holding up a number of players, most obviously Big 3 compatriot Chris Bosh, who reportedly would sign with the Rockets if James doesn’t return to Miami.

But several other deals are being held up by James’ indecision. The Rockets, if they can land Bosh, will reportedly deal Jeremy Lin to the 76ers to free cap room needed to nab the All-Star forward.

Whether or not they get Bosh, the Rockets likely would choose to match the three-year, $45 million offer sheet Chandler Parsons signed with the Mavericks (while out at a nightclub with Mark Cuban). But because of a salary cap loophole, the Rockets would have to sign Bosh before Parsons to get both and stay under the cap.

And there are reports the Cavaliers, if James decides to return to his roots, are involved in trade discussions with the Timberwolves to obtain forward Kevin Love.

Basically, nothing is going to happen until James signs on the dotted line – whenever that may be.
