Who should replace Zendaya in Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic?

Well that was quick! Zendaya Coleman’s run as Aaliyah ends before she even got started. The Disney star dropped out of the Aaliyah biopic coming to Lifetime citing “production issues,” but it’s obvious she just grew tired of all the insulting comparisons.

So, since Coleman’s stepped aside, we can start dream-casting again. In just 22 years of life, Aaliyah had such a huge impact on music. She virtually owned the mid-’90s hip-hop and R&B era with her fluid dance moves and equally smooth voice. Whoever is tasked with the role must emulate her confidence, sex appeal and laid-back vibe.

Right now there is a very short list of well-known stars with the talent and charisma to do the project justice.

Keshia Chanté

Keshia Chanté has been graciously vying for this part for years, even putting her own music career on the back burner. The Toronto native is now the host of BET’s “106 & Park,” and she had the painful task of interviewing the girl who beat her out of dream role.

Here, the soft-spoken beauty captures the late star’s essence in this “One in a Million” tribute from 2011.

Ciara

In 2009, world-renowned music producer Timbaland said it himself: “Ciara is the next Aaliyah.” It’s only right that she be at least considered for the role. Ciara is untouchable in the dancing department and she would have no problem nailing down Aaliyah’s complex choreography.

Dawn Richard is a wild card, but she could totally pull it off. The Danity Kane lead singer is known for her commanding stage presence, powerful vocal range and intricate dance style. She also has the body and the look.

Solange

Back in her “Hadley St. Dreams” days, Solange Knowles had an affinity for rocking long, dark, straight tresses just like Aaliyah. A split-screen comparison could show them looking very alike. Though she denied ever being approached for the role, there’s no denying their resemblance.

Solange once played backup dancer to her big sister Beyoncé’s group Destiny’s Child.

Sevyn Streeter

Sevyn Streeter is the new kid on the R&B block with powerhouse vocals and incredible dance ability. The gorgeous protégée of Chris Brown looks a whole lot like Aaliyah, too.
