Forensic experts ID 65 Flight MH17 victims

Forensic experts sifting through the remains of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 have now identified 65 of the 298 victims who died after the plane was shot down over war-torn eastern Ukraine, the Dutch government said Saturday.

About 176 “more or less” complete bodies and 527 body parts were returned to the Netherlands on Friday, according to the investigation’s coordinator.

The effort to continue recovering body parts was abruptly cut short last week because of escalating violence between the Ukrainian government and pro-Russia separatists.
