Police fire shots at carjacker high on Molly on Verrazano Bridge

A carjacker high on Molly and suspected in at least one murder tried to run down two cops at the Verrazano Bridge toll plaza Monday, law enforcement sources said.

The 2006 Hummer, allegedly driven by Tyrell Brown, 25, crossed the bridge into Staten Island around 1:15 a.m. and was approached by Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority police officers, who were on the lookout for the stolen vehicle.

When Officers Jimmy Moy and José Luzuriaga approached the SUV, a female passenger got out and the driver peeled off, narrowly avoiding the two cops — who fired four shots at the vehicle, sources said.

“He tried to run the cops down,” said a source.

Brown ditched the Hummer after crashing near Narrows Road and ran into the woods, cops said.

His passenger was arrested at the scene and told cops Brown was high on Molly, sources said.

Brown stole the SUV during a gunpoint robbery in Mariners Harbor Sunday, cops said. He’s believed to have gunned down a 23-year-old man about an hour earlier, sources said.
