Suspects in pellet-gun attacks took bets on hitting targets

A man busted in a slew of pellet-gun attacks on city joggers said he and a pal took bets on hitting targets, court documents show.

“I bet him $20 he couldn’t hit the dog,” Edward Fall, 20, told cops about buddy Antwan Ross, who also was busted in the shootings.

The pair were at Hudson River’s Pier 81 last week when a man, woman and pooch were shot.

“I gave Antwan the gun because it was his birthday,” Fall said, according to court papers.

“I thought he might shoot the water, but then I knew he was going to shoot people. He’s a good shot even when he’s drunk.”

After hitting the dog, “then he shot the girl,’’ Fall said. “She turned around and looked, so the pellet must have hit her leg. Then he shot a man.’’

Ross told police that he fired the BB gun — but didn’t intend to hit anyone.

“Eddie gave me the BB gun, and I shot it twice,” he said, according to court papers.

“Once it hit a man, maybe just his pants, and once I hit a woman in the leg,” he said. “I wasn’t aiming at her, but she was the only one on the path, and I hit her.”

Fall told police that he purchased two pellet guns while at a Wal-Mart in Bristol, PA, and intended to eventually sell them for a $100 each to thieves who planned to rob halal carts.

Fall, who was arraigned Sunday and held on $200 bail, also was linked to two separate BB-gun attacks in Central Park on Aug. 17 while with a group of friends.

He also denied pulling the trigger in the park, instead pointing the finger at a buddy named “Hollywood,” who he claims had been pestering him to hold a BB gun as they were walking.

“I gave it to him, and he shot a man,” Fall told police, according to the documents. “It looked like it hurt that man, so I grabbed the gun back from him.”

Hours later, Hollywood supposedly convinced Fall to give the gun back.

“I knew he was going to shoot someone with it, but I was tired of fighting with him,” Fall told cops. “He hid behind a tree and shot a woman.”

The pack then ran before a woman in the group shouted at the victim, calling her a “white bitch.”

The pellet is still lodged in the soft tissue of the woman’s head, court documents show.

Both Fall and Ross were charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

They could be charged with a hate crime pending further investigation, authorities said.

Ross was set free after his arraignment.
