Natalee Holloway slay suspect Joran van der Sloot to marry

LIMA, Peru — Joran van der Sloot is soon to be both a father and a husband, his lawyer said Wednesday.

The Dutchman, 26, and his Peruvian fiancée have nearly completed legal arrangements to wed, Maximo Altez said.

The future Mrs. van der Sloot is five months pregnant with a boy, according to Altez.

Van der Sloot met Leydi Figueroa, 22, while selling goods inside Lima’s Piedras Gordas Prison, where he is serving 28 years for killing a Peruvian student in 2010, Altez has said.

A wedding date has not yet been set.

Van der Sloot remains the chief suspect in the unsolved 2005 disappearance in Aruba of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

Van der Sloot keeps busy teaching English to fellow inmates and is studying international commerce via a correspondence course, Altez said.
