Prosecutor got me shot after cover was blown: Informant

A shady ex-con who turned confidential informant is suing the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, claiming he was shot because a prosecutor blew his cover by contacting the man he was helping them nail, court papers state.

Pedro Castellano, 34, claims he was helping DA investigators set up a gun buy when then-Assistant District Attorney Theresa Oh mistakenly dialed the subject of the probe instead of Castellano on March 12, 2013, the Brooklyn Supreme Court suit states.

“The subject of the DA investigation knew and/or suspected from the telephone call he received from ADA Oh that plaintiff was a confidential informant that was working with the DA,” the suit states.

Castellano claims prosecutors announced in open court on April 23, 2013, that he was a confidential informant. About two weeks later a gunman shot him, the suit states.

Oh did not respond to a request for comment. A DA spokeswoman said the office doesn’t comment on pending litigation. The suit seeks unspecified damages.
