Suicide cop penned love note to police partner

A suicide note penned by the cop brother of disgraced ex-NYPD Detective Louis Scarcella revealed his deep love for his former police partner, sources said.

“Tell Marlene I love her, she’s my best friend,” wrote Michael Scarcella, a 25-year veteran who worked in the 71st Precinct and was preparing to retire.

Officer Marlene Welch, who had worked with him for the past 23 years, called 911 when she went to check on Scarcella Thursday and couldn’t get in.

Scarcella, 50, was found on the couch in his Brooklyn home, shot in the chest.

The two usually worked the same 4 to midnight shift, sometimes partnering up — and were known for being closer than most spouses, sources said.

“I’m sorry, I want to apologize to the guys in the 71st precinct,” Scarcella, who was known for showing up for work an hour early and always wanted to work late, added in the note.

In the note, he also called former Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes a “liar” for questioning his older brother’s police work.

All of the elder Scarcella’s homicide cases are under review after allegations he coached witnesses and fabricated a confession.
