Fashion experts worry that Angelina Jolie’s eccentric wedding dress, which featured drawings by her children down the back, will launch a new trend. Tom Fitzgerald and Lorenzo Marquez of the wildly popular fashion site Tom & Lorenzo discussed the problem at the Supima Design Competition at Lincoln Center’s Pavilion on Thursday.
“Our fear is you’re going to see a lot of people try and knock this off,” says Fitzgerald. “If you can’t get a master tailor at Versace to do this for you, you might not want to do it. ’Cause it’s not going to look the same.”
Even Jolie might not have exactly pulled it off, they say.
“We appreciate the gesture,” says Marquez, “[but] there’s too many drawings on the dress.”
“It looks like a wall from a day care of hyperactive children who aren’t being supervised,” quips Fitzgerald.
