Mayor de Blasio was in Massachusetts Sunday for a family funeral, aides said.
Hizzoner, noticeably absent from the Dominican Day Parade on Sixth Avenue, left town Saturday for the funeral, for a relative of wife Chirlane McCray.
De Blasio and McCray both hail from the Bay State.
Aides said De Blasio returned to the Big Apple later on Sunday.
He sat down with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh following a reception for the US Conference of Mayors in Manhattan.
