What happens when the Andy Warhol of suburbia teams up with an uptown jewelry and handbag designer?
Why, oodles of tote bags hand painted with irreverent and fashion-focused motifs, naturally.
On Monday, Donald “Drawbertson” Robertson — Estée Lauder’s creative director and prolific Instagram artist — and designer Kara Ross released their official collaboration on kararossny.com.

The collection ranges from cheeky calfskin bags with messages like “Anna and Karl Sitting in a Tree” and “Buy Sexual” to one with the Ross- designed jeweled lobster, “Lola,” and Robertson’s signature lip-print.
Our personal favorite is the New York Post masthead bag.
The idea came when the pair met through designer Lisa Perry — and after sketching out ideas on Columbus Day, the collection was officially born.
“Kara Ross was cool on Instagram, so we are now selling high-end leather Whole Foods brown bags that I painted,” explains Robertson, who has worked with everyone from J.Crew to Dita Von Teese to Seventeen magazine. “New York women are one-of-a-kind. Their bags should be too.”
The unique totes range in price from $300 to $3,000.
