What are notable New Yorkers up to Labor Day weekend?

“I’m looking forward to spending the weekend in NYC with my husband and my son. We’ll probably keep it very low-key, watch some movies on Netflix, take walks with our pug Gordie, eat out and order in: the typical NYC stay-cation. On Labor Day, I’m headed to Las Vegas for the launch of “Kinky Boots’ ” national tour, so I need to get in some end-of-summer quality time with my family before we all get back to our busy schedules.”
— Cyndi Lauper, pop icon and Tony-winning composer of “Kinky Boots”

“I’m taking my nieces and nephews to Central Park for a family softball game. Only one rule, Uncle Steve gets to hit a homer!”
— Steve Guttenberg, actor and author of the kids’ book “The Kids from D.I.S.C.O.”

“I’ll be vacationing with my family at our ranch in Ridgway, Colo. We’ll spend most of the time hiking, mountain biking, playing with the ranch animals [horses, dogs, pigs and sheep] and possibly camping. The fresh air is ideal for clarity and will help me in dreaming up the design of the new Dylan’s Candy Bar Chicago flagship store that’s in the works.”
— Dylan Lauren, owner of Dylan’s Candy Bar

“I plan to get an early start on ‘JMI Day’ which is my birthday on the 4th of September. I plan to do as little labor as possible unless that labor includes eating . . . very well on BBQ and my favorite dark chocolate Bundt cake covered in caramel that my lovely wife makes! Yes people, Labor Day is my birthday eve! Dang it, now I want cake!”
— James Monroe Iglehart, Tony-winning star of Broadway’s “Aladdin”

“If it’s Labor Day it’s the annual cannonball competition at the pool!”
— Norah O’Donnell, co-host of “CBS This Morning”

“I’ll be spending Labor Day at Dublin Lake in New Hampshire for a quick and restful getaway.”
— Ryan Serhant, star of “Million Dollar Listing New York”

“Oh my gosh! We’ll probably be [rehearsing] for the whole time. But if I could, I’d see my friends and my girlfriend and hang out, and if it’s a nice day, be in a park or something . . . do something nice and relaxing and stupid. See a movie, maybe.”
— Michael Cera, actor and star of “This Is Our Youth,” opening Sept. 11 on Broadway

“I will be in the Cort Theater for the whole time, rehearsing. I don’t know what the schedule is . . . I hear that my apartment is a really nice place to sleep. I’ll probably just be doing that!”
— Tavi Gevinson, former fashion blogger and future NYU student, now starring in “This Is Our Youth”

“Looking forward to spending a relaxing weekend with my wonderful husband Deep and our new kittens on my Manhattan dream terrace!”
— Reshma Shetty, star of USA’s “Royal Pains”

“We’ll have a house full of our oldest friends and their kids. Expect high school behavior . . . from the adults.”

“We’re celebrating Labor Day in the Hamptons with the whole family and close dear friends. We are all going to the beach and we plan on having a lot of fun!”
— Aviva Drescher, cast member of “Real Housewives of New York”

“Labor Day, the last weekend in summer. Your last chance to wear white, eat watermelon and spill said watermelon all over your last chance white clothes. Here are the top 3 things I’m looking forward to doing this Labor Day Weekend.

1) Sleeping on a blow up mattress on the floor of a house filled with what feels like hundreds of children who have just consumed pounds and pounds of sugar.

2) Sitting in traffic on the way back to NYC. I can’t WAIT to sit on the NJ turnpike for hours in my stained white clothes praying that I get to an exit before I pee myself.

3) Returning home to my small NYC apartment, ordering a pizza and wondering why on earth I don’t just stay and do that all weekend long. “
—Laura Benanti, Tony-winning actress with a recurring role on TV’s “Nashville”
