Ticket prices for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final are falling as fast as the Rangers’ slim chances of winning hockey’s ultimate prize.
Puck fanatics can get into Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night for as little as $548 on the secondary market, according to data from TiqIQ, which tracks the price of ducats offered by ticket brokers.
While that’s still a stiff price, it’s a huge fall from the $1,079 bottom-end ticket that was being offered shortly after the Rangers beat the Montreal Canadiens last week to earn a spot in the Stanley Cup final, according to TiqIQ data.
The Los Angeles Kings steamrolled the Blueshirts, 3-0, in Game 3 on Monday night. LA now has an all-but-invincible 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 series driving down ticket demand in New York.
The average asking price for a secondary-market ticket for Game 4 was $1,594.92 on Tuesday. That’s way down from $2,419.57 average Game 4 asking price, just after the Rangers beat Montreal.
A potential Game 6 at MSG this upcoming Monday remains a white-hot ticket. Of course that’d require the Blueshirts to win Game 4 on Wednesday, and then take a possible Game 5 back in LA on Friday.
The lowest price for a Game 6 ticket at MSG is $1,604 with an average asking price of $2,774.86.
