A woman claims her dream Caribbean wedding was turned into a nightmare.
June Helen Pak, 38, found Villa Blanche, a seven-bedroom compound on CaribiqueVillaRentals.com.
Her queries about the property were answered by Vanessa Duquesnes, who told Pak that for $3,000 a day she could host her March nuptials, and have her family stay at the property, the Manhattan Supreme Court suit says.
Pak forked over $21,000, but just two weeks before the big event, Duquesnes admitted she “was not in fact the owner of the house,” but simply a tenant who had to vacate within the week, the suit says.
“This is really an abhorrent situation,” Pak’s lawyer, Bryan Kishner, said.
Pak is suing Duquesnes and her partner, Marc Bikindou, for $60,000. Neither returned messages seeking comment.
