An Upper West Side schizophrenic accused of killing his dad with a pair of scissors admitted to cops he kept “rampaging like it was a video game,” according to newly released court documents.
He was arraigned Tuesday on murder, attempted-murder and assault charges in Manhattan court.
“I killed my father. I put the knife in him and just kept pushing,” Anthony Powe, 27, told cops after the gruesome March 18 incident at the family’s Columbus Avenue apartment, according to the papers.
Powe, who allegedly brutally stabbed his father in the neck and face and then turned the knife on his mother, said he killed his 71-year-old dad, Darlington, because he had a “bitter and sour relationship” with him. He allegedly tried to destroy the bloodied scissors by melting them in the oven afterward.
“I stabbed him in the neck. I stabbed him at least three times. He didn’t have a knife,” said Powe. “I wasn’t there to hurt my mother. I was after my father.”
His mother, Alicia, 56, suffered a stab wound to the chest but survived.
In his ramblings to cops, the nutcase apologized for his horrific actions.
“I am so sorry, Dad. Hear me from space. I stabbed Mom. Come get me from the afterlife,” he blubbered.
The disturbed son fled the grisly scene after the stabbings and ran through Central Park and was nabbed by cops on East 96th Street wearing only his underwear.
When cops asked him why he stripped, Powe said he heard voices telling him to get rid of the clothes, according to court papers.
“I didn’t have to, but I had blood all over my clothes,” he said. “I figured because of what I did, I should be caught in my underwear.”
