Dante de Blasio goes back to school

Dante de Blasio’s high school days are numbered — and his parents are all choked up about it.

The mayor’s 17-year-old son showed up for the first day of his senior year at Brooklyn Technical High School on Thursday morning, as New Yorkers across the city headed back to class.

His mom, first lady Chirlane McCray, posted a picture of Dante and Mayor Bill de Blasio heading off Thursday morning.

“Happy birthday and last first day of school, Dante. #BacktoSchoolNYC,” she tweeted.

It may have been a weepy morning for Mom and Dad — but Dante took it like a typical teen.

“We were an emotional wreck, Dante was blasé about the whole thing,” de Blasio said during a press conference at Inner Force Tots in Crown Heights.

Sporting a burgundy T-shirt and black athletic shorts, the birthday boy was dropped off by a black SUV around 8:05 a.m. The mayor came along for the car ride but didn’t get out.

On his way inside, Dante told a Post reporter it feels “very good” to be back at school.

At Inner Force Tots, de Blasio also spoke to students and parents about his pre-K expansion program as more than 51,000 pre-kindergartners started classes around the city.

“This will change the lives of children, this will change the lives of parents, this will change the whole school system,” he said. “All boats will be lifted.”

The mayor offered Chirlane a tissue when she got misty-eyed during his speech.

“I’m a little shaky today,” she said. “This moment means so much for our children and our communities.”
