Sunny weather expected for the city on Memorial Day

Mother Nature is making up for all those Polar Vortexes with a spectacular Memorial Day weekend.

On Sunday, the temperature is predicted to hit 76 degrees with clear skies, and on Monday the high will be 80.

There will be some rain on Saturday, which may be better for catching a flick like the new “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

About 36.1 million Americans — 1.5 percent more than 2013 — are expected to hit the roads for the holiday weekend, according to the AAA.

“The memories of the harsh winter has Americans champing at the bit to take a trip with travel for the Memorial Day weekend expected to hit a post-recession high,” said Robert Sinclair Jr., a spokesman for the motor club’s New York chapter.

For New Yorkers staying in town, the city beaches will be open starting Saturday morning, Luna Park in Coney Island will debut some new rides including the revamped Thunderbolt, and The Bronx Zoo is featuring a Dinosaur Safari.
