Suspect wanted for slaying of 2 Harlem rappers

Police released surveillance video Monday of the suspect wanted for the fatally shooting an aspiring rapper and his manager in Harlem.

The gunman is seen wearing a gray hoodie with the hood over his head, pulling his handgun from the right pocket of his cargo shorts at the corner of West 151st and Broadway, the video taken from Fedel Gourmet Deli shows.

Moments before the shooter enters the frame, a white Nissan Altima — believed to be the getaway car — is seen driving past the deli where rapper Francisco Mercedez, 29, and his manager Kenny Jimenez, 21, were standing outside around 3 a.m. Sunday, cops and witnesses said.

The suspect walked across the street, whipped out the gun and fired at least two shots at the victims, police sources said.
Cops believe the shooting might have been drug motivated, sources said.

Jimenez was shot in the neck and died at the scene, cop said. Mercedez was hit in the back and was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, officials said.

Police believe the shooter then fled in the Nissan Altima.

The two victims had just returned from a record-release party in Connecticut when they were gunned down at the deli.
