Citi Field to honor cops wounded in shootout

The police officer who was shot while attempting to arrest two Brooklyn fare-beaters in February will be honored by the Mets on Saturday, according to law enforcement sources.

Officer James Li, 26, was shot in both legs, allegedly by Rashaun Robinson, 28, who fired at the rookie cop when Li attempted to arrest him and another man as they tried to enter the back of a B46 bus without paying.

Police say Officer Li and his partner Officer Randy Chow exchanged fire with Robinson on Utica Avenue in Crown Heights before Robinson was found hiding in a nearby building.

Both Li and Chow, as well as emergency responders Khadija Hall and Shaun Alexander who came to their aid, will be honored on Saturday’s game against the Marlins as a part of all-star third basemen David Wright’s ‘Wright Thing’ program, which has been honoring heroes of New York City since Hurricane Sandy, law enforcement sources said.
