Hondo dancing with Yanks

By now it’s clear Hondo arrived at the Sawx party too late, which he proved again with Thursday’s loss in Toronto that pushed the debt to an even-steven 1,500 hamiltons.

Friday night: Mr. Aitch will do the Hiroki-pokey with Kuroda and the Yanks, who no doubt will hand the Jays their 17th straight Stadium seback. Ten units.

Someone might want to explain to Governor Cuomo that, with regards to the so-called independent commission he impaneled to probe New York State corruption, it’s not like fighting fire with fire — you can’t fight corruption with corruption.

Speaking of shady dealings, props to Mike “Lil Him” Lupica for being named the 21st most powerful person in New York sports by his own paper, the Daily Ruse. What an honor! He would have been higher on the list, but apparently there was a height requirement for being in the Top 20 … According to No. 21’s bio: “Lupica is impossible to imitate, though many have tried.” That’s not entirely true. Word is actors Peter Dinklage and Danny Devito do spot-on imitations.

The big mystery in the Ruse’s 50 most powerful in New York sports came at No. 41, which was omitted from the print presentation. Here are a few guesses as to who or what the forgotten power-broker might have been:
1) The “I” Team. Oops, that’s not right; he was listed at No. 21
2) Former police commissioner Bernard Kerik and lawyer Joe Tacopina, whose on-going legal squabble has been chronicled ad nauseum — in the sports pages for some reason
3) The carriage horse, which is a distant relative of the sport of kings participants and has inspired the paper to waste an incredible amount of space on fighting for its continued presence in Midtown.
