Sterling’s wife in talks with ex-Microsoft chief for Clippers sale

The wife of embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling was set to meet with former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer on Sunday in a possible bid to sell the NBA team, according to a report.

Shelly Sterling was to meet with the billionaire as the league attempts to pry the team from the Sterlings’ hands because of his racist diatribes, TMZ reported.

Donald surrendered his share in the team to Shelly so that she could “resolve the dispute amicably,” the site said.

Ballmer, who tried unsuccessfully to keep the Seattle Supersonics in that Pacific Northwest city (the team moved to Oklahoma City in 2008 and is now called the Thunder), hinted earlier this month that he was interested in the Clippers.

Sterling’s downfall began April 29 when a tape of him telling his then-gal-pal, V. Stiviano, not to bring black people to Clippers games was made public.
