Alexa and Chloë Grace kill it, while Tyra tanks big time

The week in good style was colored in pretty pastels and earthy shades of brown, which were a fitting contrast to the worst — a triplet of shiny, futuristic-looking fails.

The hits:

Alexa Chung

For her buddy Nick Grimshaw’s London birthday bash, Chung slipped into a table top-ready, high-slit Burberry Prorsum dress, topped off with a fun Charlotte Simone x Kyle De’Volle fur stole.

This is as close to “sexy” as the demure fashion girl gets. We dig.

Chloë Grace Moretz

Moretz chose head-to-toe Miu Miu for the “If I Stay” New York premiere. The floral-embroidered collared shift dress is fresh, playful and perfectly age-appropriate — if not a complete nightmare to dry clean!

Attention Bella Thornes of the world: This is how you do 17.

Marisa Tomei

For the NYC screening of “Love Is Strange,” Tomei paired a chocolate ribbed asymmetrical sweater with an ankle-length black paneled skirt, finishing it with a single oversize bracelet and navy clutch.

On someone else, those words together could equal “ew,” but Tomei possesses the polish and élan to make this the most chic and understated outfit of the week.

Rihanna

Rihanna stepped out in NYC wearing an Alexander Wang tank top with pinstriped Haider Ackermann trousers and a covetable Balenciaga crocodile bag.

The pared-down menswear vibe really works for the pop star. Keep it up, RiRi — you’re on a roll!

The misses:

Heidi Klum

Splash News (2)
At an “America’s Got Talent” event in NYC, the German model proved she’s in no short supply of budget-looking shimmery short dresses. Combined with the earrings, the bangles, and the belt, it’s all a bit too much.

Besides, you’re a 41-year-old mother of four, Heidi, not running out to meet LiLo at Up & Down.

Rita Ora

What’s the worst thing about this deranged look Ms. Ora sported to a DKNY event in NYC — the choppy peroxide hair, the clown makeup, the droopy tinfoil dress or the ugly platform sneakers?

Still, we say it’s better than some of her other recent fashion fails.

Tyra Banks

For an “America’s Next Top Model” party in LA, the show’s creator put on her helmet-shaped hair, and then jarringly paired a Space Age top with circa 1998 office pants.

You can look weird — but as you say, Tyra, make it fashion.
