ISIS demands $6.6 million ransom for American woman

ISIS has demanded $6.6 million and the release of a convicted terrorist in exchange for an American kidnapped a year ago.

The American is a 26-year-old woman, snatched while doing humanitarian relief work in Syria, according to ABC News.

The woman’s family has asked that she not be identified.

ISIS wants cash and the release of Aafia Siddiqui, and MIT-trained neuroscientist, according to ABC. Siddiqui was convicted in 2010 of plotting to kill US officials.

ISIS last week murdered photojournalist James Foley and threatened to do the same to another American captive, Steven Sotloff.
