A gunman opened fire on a Highbridge street corner in broad daylight, wounding three men, police said Monday.
The fiend was caught on surveillance video (above) firing into a crowd of about 10 people at Summit Avenue and West 165th Street at around 3 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
When the first shot was fired, the victims ran and desperately ducked for cover behind cars, the video shows.
The gunman charged down the block, still firing at the group, before turning and running the other way, the video shows.
One 29-year-old victim was shot in the torso, another, 21, was grazed in the chest, and a 28-year-old was shot in the right knee, cops said.
They were all taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.
The attack seems to have been gang-related, a source said.
Brooklyn
A man was found dead in the Bay Ridge Channel off Sunset Park on Monday morning, authorities said.
A 911 caller reported spotting the body in the water just south of Governors Island at around 7:10 a.m., police said.
There were no signs of trauma on the victim, who has not been identified.
Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
A sneaky thief tried to play “hide the salami” in a bungled robbery at an East New York supermarket, authorities said Monday.
Meat-lover Jiovanni Lopez shoved 11 packages of the cured sausage down his pants at the store on Stanley Avenue near Van Siclen Avenue at around 1:15 p.m. July 26, court records state.
Lopez, 31, then tried to walk out, but employees nabbed him, authorities said.
He was charged with 11 counts each of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
A creep forcefully kissed a 5-year-old boy’s face after telling the child and his father that he was a police officer, authorities said Monday.
The child and his father were at a convenience store on Kings Highway in Bensonhurst at around 4 p.m. Friday when Mustafa Arslan, 55, approached them, a Criminal Court complaint charges.
Arslan showed a shield and a card given out by the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association and said he was a cop, records state.
He then grabbed the child by the wrist, pulled him close and kissed him, the documents state.
The startled father contacted real police officers, who found three fake shields and three PBA cards in Arslan’s wallet, court papers state.
Arslan was charged with criminal impersonation, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
An order of protection was also issued barring him from coming near the victim, said a spokeswoman for the Kings County district attorney.
Manhattan
A woman’s $3,000 laptop was stolen when she left it charging in the hallway outside her High Line apartment, sources said Monday.
The 28-year-old woman had no power in her high-rise pad on West 17th Street, so she plugged the MacBook Pro into an outlet in the hall at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the victim told police.
When she returned 15 minutes later, the pricey device had vanished.
An evening of partying at the Dream Hotel in Chelsea turned into a nightmare after an out-of-control drunk threw a tantrum and caused $1,000 in damages, sources said Monday.
Manual Sobrino, 29, got so drunk and disorderly at the hotel on West 16th Street by 7:15 p.m. Saturday that he had to be escorted out the back door by security, the sources said.
He then returned minutes later and went berserk, causing more than $1,000 in damage to hotel property, the sources said.
He was arrested and charged with trespassing.
Queens
A man was fatally stabbed in the face and neck on a street corner in Jackson Heights, police said Monday.
Cops discovered Fabian Carreno, 30, lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk near 97th Street and Northern Boulevard just after 2 a.m. Sunday, sources said.
He had suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Surveillance video showed him fighting with a man.
The attacker fled, but returned with two others who jumped the victim, the sources said.
The victim fell to the ground, where he was repeatedly hit and stabbed, according to investigators.
It was unclear what sparked the confrontation.
The victim did not appear to have been robbed, police sources said.
