Judge ignores killer’s pleas, sentences him to 22 years

An elderly Russian immigrant convicted of coldly murdering his ex-wife in a jealous rage pleaded for mercy Monday, whining that he is already “halfway into the grave .”

But the killer’s plea was ignored by a tough Brooklyn judge who sentenced him to 22 years in prison.

Dimitry Kamenev, 79, rattled the handcuffs that bound him to his wheelchair as he protested his conviction for fatally shooting Alla Kamenev, 65, in Coney Island in 2011.

“If he is going to sentence me I ask him to be minimal because I’m halfway into the grave. I’m not going to live when my jail term is over,” Kamenev said through a translator.

“I have shown this defendant the same mercy he showed his ex-wife when he gunned her down on the streets of our borough,” said Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Guy Mangano.

Alla had just gotten her nails done because she was about to fly to London to begin a European cruise with her new husband, prosecutors said at trial.

“This was a jealous man who executed his wife in cold blood,” Mangano said Monday.
